Sonotant
Sonotant is an experimental electroacoustic music project by Masako Yokouchi. She employs field recordings and unconventional sources to create an organic sonic palette. Her music is infused with improvisational elements to keep it raw and unpredictable.
Sonotant's music is often inspired by her desire to capture the peace, serenity, and beauty found in the familiar natural noise of the city and its suburbs. Her creative process involves moving back and forth between the ever-changing sound flow surrounding us and our consciousness.
Masako Yokouchi has a diverse musical background, including classical music as a pianist and cellist, improvisation and free jazz as an accordionist and keyboardist, Japanese pop and rock, and jazz from her early life.
She is an avid piano teacher who also instructs children in electric music production while effectively utilizing classical music theory.
